  • try to aim for eating 5-6 small meals 2-3 hours throughout the day – it helps boost your metabolism and keeps you energized
  • your body needs 6-8 glasses of water a day – this helps digest your food and also boosts your metabolism
  • for all you carb lovers – look for multi-grains or 100% whole wheat products. they’re so much better than those refined carbs
  • chew your food slowly! – it takes about 20 minutes for your body to recognize that you’re putting food in your stomach.
  • eat until you’re about 80% full – NEVER eat until you physically feel like you’re going to burst out of your pants. This leads to bloating and no one wants that!
  • drink a cup of water before every meal – the feeling of hunger can sometimes be mistaken for  thirst.
  • breakfast is the most important meal of the day so make sure you get that first thing in the morning!
  • try not to skip meals
  • put less carbs and more colourful VEGGIES on your plate! don’t forget to include LEAN PROTIEN (chicken, salmon, beef)
  • if you’re planning on going grocery shopping for ingredients on your new healthy meals make sure you don’t go on an empty stomach – this can lead you to buy junk food and foods that are not necessarily good for you
